Students saw the results of their vocab. quizzes (weather, days, colors) and their alphabet grades.
We looked at the book, Bien Dit! , a map of francophone countries, Paris, and cultural aspects of France. They reviewed greetings vocabulary. They greeted one another, introduced themselves and asked each other how they were doing.

Students played Pendu (Hangman) and Pictionnaire with weather expressions, days of the week and colors. They practiced the alphabet and spelled their names in French, and recited this to Madame L.
They decorated a name poem.

We reviewed class vocab. and greetings by playing Around the World. Students took the quiz on this vocab. We practiced the alphabet (in French!) and students shared their names : Je m 'appelle....
and then spelled their names in French. We practiced the pronunciation of a list of adjectives .

Bonjour! Today we read through the syllabus for French 1. Students learned about the origins of French (the Latin connection) and guessed the meanings of French words (cognates, with similar meanings in English). We learned class vocabulary.

Create a 4-fold-fan (vocabulary list)
from the GREETINGS and the VOCAB. DE CLASSE (class vocabulary),
write each word 4 times (French, English, French,English), due on Monday
Fill out the STUDENT INFORMATION SHEET, read through the syllabus and WL policies with your parents, make sure to sign it, and have a parent sign it as well. Due on Friday.
Show Mrs. Legier that you have a BINDER (or a section of a binder) for your French papers.
The S. INFO and binder will be checked on Friday.
